What inspired you to pursue a healthcare career?

I have always wanted to help people, and I worked previously in a pharmaceutical lab where we made medicines from donated plasma. I wanted to be more on the frontline and have that face-to-face experience with the patients.

How did your background and history factor into your career choice?

My mom is a nurse practitioner, and I always loved hearing how she has made an impact on many patients’ lives, and I wanted to be able to give back to my community the way she does.

Why did you decide to attend ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ University?

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ University is about an hour from home, and this campus is absolutely gorgeous. I knew I have a good opportunity with the potential to be a great student here.

What about a ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ University education do you want to carry forward in your career?

I want to be able to incorporate the One Health Initiative. I will be focusing on my patients’ eyes, but in turn, I need to remember that they are a whole and their whole health is important. I want to stay in contact with every provider who provides my patients with care to give them the best possible outcome. I also want to incorporate my master's degree and doctorate degree to give my patients a more personalized approach to medicine and care.
